The Olympic National Park

and the work of my new18-200mm lens ;)

You ever had one of those days, where everything you saw nearly took your breath away?
Yeah it was one of those days.

Madison Falls at the Olympic National Park.
I spent hours and hours there and barely covered more then 10 miles of the park. Next time, I want to see rain forests, glaciers and hot springs. Yes. All in the same park.
(It's pretty much the whole corner of Northern Washington)

Remember to always travel in numbers. Especially when you plan on being overtly dangerous.

There are too many shots of "just" a waterfall.
I was trying to be a little different.
Though I took plenty "just" waterfall shots too ;)

There was moss everywhere.
It twisted around the trees like the red on a candy cane.
It hung down from their branches. It grew on their trunks.
This moss, was dancing.

I stood behind this man while he stood behind a woman.
As I took his picture he painted hers.

Sometimes,
you know you'll never be able to do justice with your camera
to what your eyes are seeing.

You know those moments, where you know if you slip, trip or even slightly stumble and fall that's it. You're done. There's no getting up.
You don't?
Then you probably weren't standing on a crumbly cliff's edge with your foot under a root trying to get this shot from 300ft up.

A day filled with awe.
noun
an overwhelming feeling of reverence, admiration, fear, etc., produced by that which is grand, sublime, extremely powerful
verb (used with object)
to inspire with awe

wonder, veneration.

And finally. A pony.

Piece. Out.

Once upon a Story: The S Family

Once upon a time, in a land far away.
A boy loved a girl.
Sam and Sade were their names.

Their love so immense it was hardly contained
inside the two hearts where their passion was lade.
Their love grew till they thought that their hearts would explode.
So they created a third, where all the extra love could go.

"Making the decision to have a child - it's momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking outside your body."
-Elizabeth Stone

And this began the story, of The S Family.
Daddy's pride, and Mommy's joy.
Their love is bigger then the endless sky, for this one little boy.

Some days they think
He's their only saving grace,
but I can see their love written clearly on his face.

Together they embark on mighty adventures.
One feisty lady and two handsome fellas.
They'll face perilous heights.

And wide open spaces.

But together they'll stay safe in the most dangerous of places.

They'll brave the world of the far and unknown.
But as long as their together they're already home.

When Sam is far and out at sea. In his heart this is all there will be.

"The most dangerous place is between a mother and her child."

But this little boy was born to be wild.

He'll search for adventure and damsels to save. He'll be bigger then life,
That's why Sky is his name.

When the day is over. When the stories done.
You'll see that the most impossible love,
can create the most incredible son.

As they journey over roads less traveled,
they'll make the path their own.
Creating a love story greater then any they've ever known.

The loving two hearts, that turned into three.

And so ends this tale, of the S family.
Other things may change us, but we start and end with the family.  ~Anthony Brandt

This story is far from over.
This tale is hardly done.
It's still being written.
And the best is yet to come.

It's a sunshine day

I think I'll go for a walk outside now,
the summer sun's calling my name.
I just can't sit inside all day.
I gotta get out, get me some of those rays!

It was a beautiful rare sunny day last Saturday, Bee and I couldn't resist taking a walk in our yard and then down to the sound.

There are hundreds of these guys outside that I can see!
That probably means there's a few thousand I can't see.
I was getting grossed out just editing the spidy pics.

*shivers*

Spider's aren't the only thing lurking in the foliage.

My little Bee enjoying the sunshine.
Lot's of gross things out in my Bremerton backyard.

Lots of pretty things too.

Could not locate the tree this fell from, but I thought it looked cool. Anyone know what it is?

That's all for now folks.
The next blog will be more of the S. Family, and I hope to get those up soon.
Hope you're out there enjoying the last of the sunshine.

Love and sun are the same.

21st Annual Bremerton Blackberry Festival

Babies, Besties and Berries, oh my!

Hi guys!! It's been a few weeks. But I'm alive!!!
And I just had a great day in at the Blackberry Festival.
Here's the highlight reel. My camera was so happy to be out and about.

The King and his Jester.

 Bubbles!!

Weird artsy glass thingies made by some scientific explanation that the girls wouldn't let me stand still long enough to hear.

That's the USS Turner Joy in the background... like the Missouri... only... tiny.

Puppy love.

Quick! Get me 100 Gallons of Shoyu STAT!!

My little honey getting her face painted.

The face painter's name is Bud too!

When life hands you lemons....

love.

Bee's mission impossible run.

Cool kid. Haha (He's cold...get it?)

Epic. ly dangerous.

Where does it lead? Only one way to find out.

Which is the path I'm trying to follow these days. Had a great time at the festival. Happy to be filling up CF cards with random moments of happiness.

Until next time...Goodnight.

Sounding off from the sound.
Piece Out.
