So I tried to write a blog about me to start with, but it wasn't flowing right, so I'll just dive right in.
This past Saturday I was lucky enough to be the photographer at Formula's launch party. Formula is a new website run by the awesome Kirk and the fabulous Cherie. It's worth bookmarking, I was more then engrossed reading their blogs . The party was held at the Manifest in china town.
The space was great, I fell in love with the glass ceiling in the back and the somewhat random paintings throughout the place.
Formula held the 2010 Life is Mundane photography contest. This was the first place winner. It was my favorite piece by far.
Students from the Paul Mitchell School created living works of art with their live mannequins. The models ( and I!) were all wearing the new spring line from Organik. I loved my shirt! I wish I had gotten to keep it, I'll just have to buy one like it when the line is released :)
The designs for the hair/make-up were inspired by the shirts the models were wearing!
Also in attendance were some wonderful people from Otto Cakes. Why were they wonderful? Because they carried in trays and trays of yummy goodness. They're known for their cheesecake. BUT the macadamia nut fudge was phenomenal.
They're on Smith St. Be sure to check them out.
Here are some other shots of the night.
It was an awesome night. I met some great people and I'm super glad I was able to take part. I used my new SB-600. Which is pretty much the best investment I've ever made, I don't know how I lived before flash.
That's all for today folk's. The rest of the pictures are up on my website. Until next time....
