Photo Safari

Last Friday I met with Brian Ross from Photo Safari at the Sheraton in Waikiki. From there we (myself and two other Safarians, Christina and Shane) set off with Brian up to the Pali to learn some of the concepts that Photo Safari teaches to its clients. It's an awesome excursion for everyone from the novice photographer to the professional, who's looking to connect to the land and their camera.

I started shooting before I even met up with Brian in the hotel lobby. There's a small Koi pond just off to the side of the hotel.

After gaining weird looks from the nearby tourists because I was talking to the fish, telling them to pose. We set off to the Pali. It was a beautiful slightly overcast day with the winds barely blowing (which is very weird for the Pali lookout).

Brian tried to help us visualize certain essential elements of Photography. I love learning, especially with the click click of multiple shutters going off around me.
These were some of the shots I snagged

and this was my nature sculpture.

I know its no Andy Goldsworthy, but I give myself an E for Effort.

Brian being Brian.
He didn't really like this random shot, but I did :) It's candid without a goofy face.

We ended the day with a hike back up the Old Pali Highway talking about art, photography and life. I'm glad I had to chance to hang out with them, and hope to be able to work with them again in the future.

And so I end today's blog..... with chickens.
